Fall Prevention

AND RECOVERY EDUCATION

If you or an older adult in your life has fallen, you’re not alone. More than 1-in-4 people age 65 years or older, fall each year. The risk of falling — and fall-related problems — rise with age. However, many falls can be prevented. For example, exercising, managing your medications, having your vision checked, and making your home safer, are all steps you can take to prevent a fall.

BASE Training and Physical Therapy offers specialized training and education for patients who are likely to sustain falls or suffer from balance deficits. Whether due to increase in age, weakness, vestibular insufficiencies, or neurological conditions, proper education and training on fall prevention strategies could mean the difference between leading a healthy and active lifestyle to needing surgery to address a fractured bone. We provide unique and tailored strategies for individuals to help reduce their likelihood of experiencing a fall.
